What did Judas gain by betraying Jesus? According to Scripture we see that Judas realized that he had sinned by betraying an innocent Jesus (innocent blood). I think by giving back the thirty pieces of silver he was hoping that they would stop and not go ahead with their plans to crucify Jesus.
