3071 entries for this category: He never wanted to accept or believe that Jesus was the Son of God or even was sent by God no matter how much the Holy Spirit came upon him, nor the miracles Jesus performed. He was too proud to go back on his word though he witnessed great things from Jesus. He was also afraid of losing his seat of what he thought was God's representative of His people. Caiaphus was always looking for a way to get rid of Jesus as he viewed Jesus as a threat to his position with the people Peter was still half in half out. He loved Jesus but his fear meant he was still connected to the 'world' and not ready to be persecuted for His belief and reverance to the Lord. The same exists today. People who are afraid to identify with Jesus in public or worried about scrutiny and being labeled 'Jesus freak' or 'bible basher'. This is to be still connected to the world when the only person we should ever seek to please above all else is God almighty and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God?

What made Peter so afraid to be identified with Jesus? Why are many people today still afraid to identify with Jesus? PETER WAS SCARE THAT THEY WOULD TAKE HIM AND THAT THE SAME THAT HAPPEN TO JESUS WOULD HAPPEN TO HIM.
