Adam and Eve fell victim to sin. It is very easy for man to have Lucifer's attitude to think of himself first. And those men who care only of materials, power, wealth, vanity and pleasure of the flesh can never support Jesus and his work. They care too much about the here and now  and what they can see,feel, touch, etc. Also especially in todays society, mankind is overall and in general a wicked generation. Many dont want to believe in or follow Jesus because it would mean they would have to give up all their worldiness. Those who accept Jesus want something beyond this world. They want to spend eternal life with him. They have a love, obedience, and appreciation for him giving his life so that we may be saved. Many people who live for this world cant comprehend there is something far greater beyond this existence. Many who oppose Jesus and his followers dont want to do what is right and good. They want to do whatever they feel like doing.
