Why is it Jesus speaks so strongly against divorce and remarriage?

It is against Gods law! God is very clear in the old testament writings. He meant for one man and one woman to enter into the unity of marriage for a lifetime with him at the center of that marriage. The intimate pleasures a man and a woman experience are only meant to be enjoyed within the union of marriage and for the lifetime of that marriage.When God created man and woman and all the sensitivities and sensual pleasure it was never meant for all to enjoy at free will with whoever.That is sexual immorality.

This because God's original plan is "Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and the two of them shall become one". If a man and a woman are one, there should be no reason for seperating or divorce that can make "one" to return to "two"

How is gazing with lust like adultery?

An action starts with thoughts. God knows what is in human being's mind even though we hide it from other people. Thoughts can lead into action. In the bible it is said that we are sinfull by thinking;doing (action) and the things that we have not done (acted upon yet) yet.
