Why did Jesus forgive the man`s sins first, and heal afterward? Because he wanted him to be clean from sins first before receiving new state. Once we are sinless, then the holy ghost work on us more effectively than when being sinful.

How does Simon Peter feel about himself, and how does Jesus change that? Simon felt as a sinner didnt deserve to be one of Jesus's followers, and Jesus changed assured him he will start fishing people into the kingdom of God.
