How did Jesus "equip" his disciples for powerful work by taking away their material possessions?

He equiped them with spiritual tools and material so they can only focus on their mission, to preach and not to be distracted/obstracted by earthly material. That was to make them to do what they have been sent to do, Godly works, preaching for people to repent.

Jesus could not do a mighty work in his own town among relatives because of disbelief. What is disbelief?

Disbelief is a doubt and in this parable, it means those people could not believe in Jesus since they know him very well, his brothers, sisters and his parents, so this made them not to trust him that how, where, when did he get all this power to heal, bless and annoint.

Faith is source of magnate that activates blessings from the Almighty God regardles of the nuture of the situation one might be into. Faith is 100% hope where there seems to be no hope at all, for what is impossible with men, is possible with God.
