For Jesus was a living sacrifice for all mankind and people needed to rely to Him in the flech as a human being.

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?) No, Jesus knew what He was going to indue on this earth and stil He didn't keep it from us but we chose not to believe Him. And we also did what He said we would do to Him on this earth.
