How do you think Peter felt after his discussion with Jesus?

Peter probably felt honoured and favoured, yet troubled, having a sense of being forsaken when hearing of the course and finishing of his life on earth.

It was through his faith that Abraham was considered righteous by God, and exceptionally favoured. So too it was by their faith, their belief in God and his promise, that these woman are accounted as righteous by God and favoured. And it is through their righteousness that the Christ came through them. So carefully God selected them, according to their righteousness, as the lamb that was to be sacrificed, for the forgiveness of all sin, the salvation of mankind, through Jesus.

Why did God choose such a unique way (through a virgin birth) to bring Jesus into the world?

Prophesy is fulfilled. Jesus is conceived supernaturally by the Holy Spirit and is thus a direct Son of God, and is also indirectly through Mary, a descendent of David(kingly lineage), and Abraham and the first man Adam, the son of God.
