He learnt and believed that Jesus was who he said he was and that he was innocent. This is shown in his remorse and acceptance that he had sinned. He regreted his actions and acknowledged that Jesus was indeed innocent. But it was too late and they ended up going forward and killing Jesus. In the end he was in more problems than he was before he betrayed Jesus. All he got from it was the realisation of his sin, sadness and death. As the Bible says, '' the wages of sin is death''. He sinned and his reward was granted to him whic was death.
