Why did not the Father let the cup pass and spare Jesus the pain of the crucifiction? Long before Jesus was born, it was prophesied in scripture that a saviour would come and save us from sin and death and bring us back to God. Jesus came on earth to fulfill the scriptures and the Father knew that even though he loved his son very much there was to much sin on earth and his son is the only one who was worthy enough to take our sins and that his will had to be fulfill and go ahead with everything. God knew that his word meaning scripture had to come to pass.
