Why didn`t Jesus want his disciples to tell others that He was the Christ? This was to allow him to keep a secret in order to complet his work. If he was to reveal that he was the christ now, the pharisees would have considered it blasphemy and might have killed him before he had completed his work. So it was very important to make sure no one else knew as they might inform the pharisees.
