Since Luke was researching for a high government official, "Most Excellent Theophilis", how many eyewitnesses (and who) do you think Luke interviewed before writing his report? All scripture is inspired by God. Without God, Luke would not have been able to write the report. At this time alot of the disciples were still alive so Luke must have interviewed them. He also interviewed Jesus' family and also people that Jesus healed and those that were found around him.
