How does Jesus define members of his "spiritual family"? Does this include you?

Jesus defines members of His "spiritual family" as any beleiver who does the Will of His Father in Heaven.

When asked about a religious practice (fasting), why does Jesus describe how old and new may not be compatible?

Jesus first of all starts by saying that the Bridrgroom is still with the disciples.And that a time will come when the bridegroom would be taken away they will fast.Here Jesus is refering to Himself.I suggest that He is telling us that He had to mould His disciples with His teachings untill they reach a stage where they are uplifted very high in spiritual matters before they can fast.Unlike the pharisees who were fasting outwardly but did not practice what they were probagating.We find out that it is after the transfiguration that the Disciples of Jesus asks Him to taech them how to pray.So Jesus knew that the old self of His disciples ie their past behaviour was still manifesting in their lives and so He had to taech them untill He leaves them in the power of the Holy Spirit as He had promised to do.

Seeing their faith,Jesus said:"Son your sins are forgiven".The second statement that Jesus made was:"But that you may know that the So of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins".and lastly He said to the paralytic:"I tell you arise,take up your mat and go to your house".
