Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment? He does because has summarised the old testament law and that of the New Testament to come out with this one thereby calling it A new Commandment.The commandment deals with the relationship of the one to one own's actions.Loving one anather is the only way to appease the strife and worries of this universe.Without love we can't see eye to eye thereby keeping us away from attaining the ultimate peace in the world.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God? I may think that is what human experience in varying degree when they sin,so Jesus being fully Human (as well as God), had to experience the same . Understanding of our own earthly struggles because he suffered the same pain as we do.
