I think Jesus is warning against false prophets.He is warning because He knows that there will be a lot of voilence before the last days for Him to come.Since He knows our weakness,and knows many false prophets will appear in order to deceive His children.So He makes it a point to explain before hand what will happen in order to alert us to prepare these days before hand in prayers,reading our Bibles everyday and meditating on His words.

Judas was one of the 12 men closest to Jesus. Why would Judas betray Jesus? Judas betrayed Jesus because Satan entered him,he was money minded and this was to make scriptures come true.

Why do you think the priests, scribes, elders did not answer Jesus? I think the priests,the scribes,and the elders did not abswer Jesus because they knew from where His authority came from but did not want to accept Him.
