What does Jesus mean that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted"? I think Jesus means that we need to humble ourselves for the word of God says all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.So when one exalts himself it means one is trying to say he is perfect thus making the word of God to be untrue.Jesus therefore is saying that if one is like that God will humble him.On the contrary,one who comes to God accepting that he is a sinner and is prepared to confess his sins will automatically be acknowledged by God.
