He feared the power that is in action in the life of John the baptist.He know that he is a righteous man of GOD and knowing the power and authority backing John the baptist,he was realy afraid.Yes,I do,because when I remember the God am serving,as a humanbeing,I sometimes have the fear of sinning against HIM.This is because HIS position and authority in my life does not require that I will say or do one knowing that it is a sin against HIM.As a born again christian,any time you do something wrong,your spirit bears you witness,Herod even though he is a believer,realises that there is another power above his and that power is the power of GOD made manifest through JESUS CHRIST.HE is everything to me,I love HIM.

Can you explain the word picture Jesus uses (vs. 27) about how to rob the house of a strong man? Yes,our fight is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers of this wicked world.About the subject of discussion,to rob the house of a strong man,yes first you have to make sure you tie him down.Sometimes as christians,we tends to forget that devil is also a strong demon,so whenever we are into battle with him,we should make sure we weaken him by the Blood of JESUS CHRIST,then before we can be able to triumph over him.Devil also adopts his own stategy when he want to go into battle with believers in that case he uses all sort of strategy in form of sin to weaken us but as children GOD,we should know that HE who is in us is more than he that is in the world,therefore we are more than victorious.
