"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?) Hard to say. But certainly His example shows that we must be who we are as christians and condemn the wrong in our society, not fearing the human consequences because our hope of a better life (if it comes to giving up our life) is in Christ Jesus.

Joseph from the town of Arimathaea was a wealthy Jewish religious leader. What risk did he take and why was he willing to do this? Note: Isaiah 53:9 - "And they made His grave with the wicked, But with the rich at His death." It was to fulfill the prophecy. Jesus' death and burial were already foretold. God had already prepared Joseph from the town of Arimathea to bury him in his expensive tomb since he himself was a secret follower of Jesus that was why Joseph from Arimathea took the risk by approaching Pilate to bury Jesus.
