What is the harvest, who sows it and who reaps it? The harvest is the unsaved souls. Jesus sows and disciples reap. Jesus is telling us christians that he has already laid the foundation for us to spread the good news to the unsaved souls. Example Jesus expects us to spread the news to others in our community and elsewhere just as the woman of Samaria did when Jesus saved her.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you? What surprises me about Jesus' bacground is that he was educated. It says in Luke's gospel that he was 'found in the synagogue listening to and asking questions'. Most articles make it seem that he was 'only a carpenter's son' and therefore uneducated. Learning about the Jewish educational system, I learnt that boys from 10 years onwards were sent to 'school' in the synagogues for further instruction.
