How does Simon Peter feel about himself, and how does Jesus change that?

Peter being an experienced fisherman knows all the rudiments of fishing. Having toiled all nights without any catch is amazed at the multitude of fish is able to catch by obeying the instruction of Jesus. Fear enters him when the boat starts to sink and then he acknowledges his sinful nature and then he realises that this is not an ordinary man he is dealing with. Jesus then changes his fear by assuring him that he will become fishers of multitudes of men just as the multitudes of fish that he has caught.

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

Christ came purposely for siners and to deliver His people from the snares of satan.The book of isaiah says "The spirit of the Lord is upon me;because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek;he hath sent to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the open prison them that are bound.......(Isaiah 6:1) . I remember when I was young my sunday teacher taught that if you want to grow humble before the Lord.Jesus values lowly people.

Define "Compassion"?

Compassion was demonstrated by Jesus and in my opinion it means that we have to love one another just as the bible says.
