Jesus felt love for this rich man, and guided him to focus on treasures in heaven instead of treasures on earth. What is heavenly treasure?
Imagine the greatest treasures that cannot be stolen or destroyed, joy, love, peace and glory and the like. We can't compare the seen with the unseen( the treasures of the earth to the treasures of heaven). But unless you get to heaven you can't actually kow the treasures it holds. Live a righteous life and I shall see you there with Jesus.

Jesus knew he would be killed in Jerusalem, and still he led the way. What characteristics does Jesus demonstrate here?
'... though I walk in the shadow of death I will fear no evil for thou art with me...Jesus stayed focused. His eyes were on the salvation of man and the glory that his father will give him after his death. Christians, stay focused. When Peter took his eyes from Jesus he began to sink.Troubles don't last always!

Jesus defines a great person as one who serves others. What did Jesus mean when he said he "did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many."?
Man really doesn't know what he wishes. All our heart's desires are evil. James and John for instance did not know what they were asking for. In order to be a master you must be a servant ( Luke 9:46). So that you may be able to understand the needs and suffering of your servants when you assume the position of a master. Jesus became a servant and the greatest king after dying for his servants( Philippians 2: 10).
