I think he was showing that to forgive is more important in our walk for salvation than physical sickness. And also sometimes our sickness is due to our sins, so your sins need to be forgiven before you can receive healing.

Why did Jesus choose Matthew, a known taxgatherer and a despised man, to be His disciple? He is here to save the lost, when we confess our sins to Him He will forgive us.Cry onto Him and He will answer you, He has answer me i hope He will hear you one day.
