Another side of God’s divine nature is that He is a God of love. "God is love" (1 John 4:8). This love is an "agape" love, an unmerited favor toward someone. God has “agape” love for all of us, for all of mankind. He loves us and desires to provide for us (Psalms 145:16, “Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing”). Even with us falling so short of His glory because of our sin nature, He still loves us. For us to reconcile back to Him, reconcile both to His righteousness and His love, He has given us grace and mercy. Because of His grace, His Son, Jesus Christ, took on our punishment for our sin nature so that we may have an eternal, loving relationship with God (John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"). God is a good God so full of love and grace.
1 John 4:8, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
God desires for all of us to have eternal life. God has such a love for us that he gave his only begotten Son as a ransom so that all of us could be saved. All we have to do is believe in him and we will have eternal life (John 3:15-18, "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."). We must believe with our whole heart in Jesus Christ. We must believe in His ministry that He died for our sins He resurrected from the dead to show we can have victory over death, and that we can live forever by going the way of Jesus. If we have resurrection faith, we will have eternal life.
