When Jesus first called Peter, a fisherman, he (Jesus) told him you will now be a fisher of men. So Jesus had already chosen Peter as a soul winner. As one who knew the future,he also knew Peter would deny him, however, he was aware of our weaknesses. That as human beings when confronted with big temptation - as in his case - we could not stand it. Jesus had confidence in Peter that no matter what he would come back to him. Jesus was not wrong Peter did come back to him through repentance and he actually fished for men into the kingdom.

Why did Jesus wash the disciples` feet when Judas was present, rather than watiing until that betrayer had left? Until Judas left them.he was a disciple of Jesus so his presence was of no bother to Jesus.As a fact he had all the chance to change his mind but was blinded with the betrayal money.
