Why did Jesus take just Peter, James and John with Him to witness his transfiguration? Jesus took only the three with him to witness his transfiguring because he trusted them and also wanted them to know and understand why people don`t recognize the prophets that came and gone.
He also wanted to demonstrate to the three he love that as they will be taking over the ministry ship they need to see the work of God and how they have to move from earthly thinking to spiritual thinking and reasoning.

Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished? Jesus was able to accomplish all the purpose for which he was sent to the earth and its still manifesting in our life today.
And a great emphasis is when he said it is finish on the cross, meaning mission accomplished.
