What did Jesus state as the primary purpose of the temple, and how might this apply to today? The primary purpose of the temple is that it should be a place of God or house of God where man humbly encounters his creator,and in the process lays bare all that is within him in supplication to God.This encounter is also the nourishing period of the spirit of man.The time allotted to this encounter is what is the problem today!This because a greater part of the time is normally spent on irrelevant issues in the temple; the per suite of money for earthly purpose
