Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment? He calls it so because such never existed in the old testament. The one: "thou shalt have no other gods before me..." ex 20v3-7. Truely there were rules not to steal, kill, bear false witness among others. But still all of the don'ts continually find expression because if they had loved, they would not be able to do such to their fellow as they also would have known that whatsoever thing the do others same would be done to them. -with what measure you give so shall men measure to your bosom (paraphrased).
