Why did Jesus say, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God"? The father did not repent before his death likewise his family members. So, for him to go bury his father first would mean putting the dead unbeliever first before God's work, hence the instruction for him to go and announce the kingdom of God first.
