6154 entries for this category: This is one of the weaknesses of the law that Jesus came to improve on with Grace. The people obeyed the law for fear not as a sensible voluntary obligation. People will stay away from sin only because they are afraid of the consequences of the law not as a moral responsibility not to sin. That is how this matter of the law had eaten so deep in the lives of the reigious leaders hence the reason why they were so upset with Jesus contravening the law instituted for the sabbath. How does being forgiven increase ones love for God? Note: According to Jesus, God`s forgiveness is motivated by love. Because since we know that GOD hate sin and willing and able to forgive whosoever realise that he or she have seen and make a choice to repent. The lord will definately forgive the person, this increase the love of God. For example the prostitute that our lord jesus christ save by asking the prosecutor to first cast their stone on the woman, this increase the love between both parties.

Why were the religious leaders so upset that Jesus would heal on the Sabbath (religious day off)? The religious leaders were upset that Jesus would heal on the Sabbath day because they observed the Sabbath day as a day of rest.
