What is authority, and how did Jesus demonstrate authority in his teachings and actions? Authority is the power to give orders and made others obey. In his teachings Jesus was able to mesmerise his listerners. In his actions he was able to rebuke demons out of those who were possessed and the demons obeyed, he healed the blind, lepers and the deaf and was able to raise the dead.
