Luke has distinguished his own biography of Jesus in that, of all that was narrated and that which was delivered to the eyewitnesses, Luke whom Theophilus knew so well and who was so involved in the work of Christ had to trace the course of all things accurately from the first and write them to Theophilus so that he too can be convinced, be convicted, understand and believe the Good news of Christ that he had fallen in love with.
