Why did Jesus? penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God? Every disobedient has physical and emotional punishment. This is what Jesus received for us. the Bible says, he was chastized and the pains he bore, he did for us. He went on the cross for us to reedeem us. to save us he took our place. it couldn`t be just spiritual separation because of the gravity of our transgressions. he carry our sins our sicknesses our pain on the cross. He took our place evil as we were. And today e are free from all of those many bondage nd slavery.
