"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?"
"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?" God's love is the true love. He loves us so much that He gave us His only Son so we don't perish! He always wants the best for us and He wants us to follow Him and to love each others.  He gives us His commandments and wants us to keep them and follow them, because He loves us very much,How it feels so good, so safe and privileged to be loved by the Almighty Lord!God always loves us and even though I have a hard time with not sinning and not having enough faith in God. I know he is there with understanding, forgiveness and mercy and I love him, and always feel bad and guilty when I fail him because he has given me so much and loves me When we Love Jesus We become so in Love with His Goodness that "You will be Obedient” OUR Words Line up with our Actions." JESUS said (John14:23) If you keep His Word or Obey Him;"His Father that is God will Love him."As WE are Obedient:"GOD Loves US because OUR actions are Pleasing to Him by Our Actions which are changed upon Repentance. Keeping His Commandments” We are loved by GOD when WE believe & have Faith. (John3:16-17)GOD Loves US when "WE Abide in HIM through The HOLY SPIRIT." We hear Him through His Truth & Know Him. That Pleases GOD and allows us to be Loved. GOD can not have any relationship with SIN. Upon Repentance WE won't want to sin any more. "GOD loves US even when we fail.”Thank YOU JESUS! On this Memorial Day I remember the Pain & Suffering You Bore on Golgotha 'for our Sins’. For US to know the way through CHRIST who Became Flesh for YOU to Teach US in the Holy Bible"

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?
Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

Yes, for all were created in God's image and are equal in the eyes of Jesus.

someone who is lowly is sometimes looked upon as useless, therefore he/she is prone to do desperate things; such as steal, drink and, or even beg to get a meal if there is no job available.

Jesus said "come unto me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest". (Matt 11:28) That rest is love, peace and healing.

Matthew 20:29-34 says-Jesus left Jericho He passed by two blind beggars on the road, they heard the crowd and knew Jesus was passing and they shouted- Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us, Jesus felt sorry for them, He had compassion on them, touched they eyes and instantly they could see, then they followed Him. These men could become valuable followers of Jesus by spreading the Word of healing and the miracle Jesus did for them. That is the love Jesus has for us, that is how much He values His children.

Even at your weakess time, don't give up because Jesus has plans for each and every one of us. We are valuable to Jesus because He paid the price for our sins with His life, He loves us uncondionally.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

Surprising to me that when Jesus was sentenced to die the only law that he was guilty of breaking was the law that prohibited self declaration as a god.  Jesus was otherwise a good standing, law abiding, man of divine faith.

I'm rather surprised to find under the Religious setting that people were prone to believe curses and superstitions. I'm not sure why, maybe because the Bible represents most of Israel to be a very 'by the book' Jewish type of culture due to the religious leaders that Jesus confronted so often.

It is fascinating to see all these various aspects of life at the time of Christ, to see how these different settings probably had an effect on Jesus as well as the people who followed him, yet he remained Lord and sinless among such a diffucult Political system as well as living in such extreme religious differences.  He still went to the cross for us...amazing.
