What was Jesus trying to teach the disciples? Note: Jesus left twelve baskets full when he fed the 5000 people on the Israel side (Israel had 12 main regions or tribes).

He was trying to teach the desciples that He was the "bread of life",called to bring salvation first to the Jes(hence 12 baskets),and then to the gentiles(7 baskets-representing the churches).

Why do you think Jesus brought the man outside the village before performing the miracle?

Jesus took the blind man out of the village because He needed to get out of the village as He was being searched for by so many people.They were searching to declare Him as king for His miracles,and this was going to affect His ministry.

What is "the Christ"? How is it different than one of the prophets?

"The Christ" is the saviour of the world.He is different than other prophets in that is The Son of God,who brought hope and salvation into the World.He died on the cross so that man can be saved from eternal damnation.
