Before John the Baptist was imprisoned, he had been preaching about the coming of Christ. While John preaches the coming of the kingdom, Christ Himself has come to their midst to tell them what the Kingdom is, and what it represents.

In what way is Jesus still with us always? How can we be assured of Hi s presence?

Jesus is always with us in spirit because God is spirit and whoever worship Him must do so in spirit. Jesus therefore always make his presence known in the life of Christian whenever trouble comes in their life. He always ready to solve the problems as much as we believe in HIM.

Why didn`t the elders want the true story of Jesus` resurrection to get out?

According to the Bible, whoever cover his/her sins shall never do well. It is very shameful to the elders to owned up that Jesus actually ressurect. What a SHAME. They don`t believe Jesus could died and rise the third day, how then would they pronounced to the hearing of Jews that Jesus had actually ressurect? So, to cover their shame, they have to uphold their believe that it is not possible for Jesus to die and ressurect.
