3400 entries for this category: Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that He is about to die? Jesus had to prepare His disciples for the events that was to follow-His crucifixion, His rising from the death, and the prosecution of his foollowers as well, as their exploits in His name.
He needed to let the disciples be aware, so they do not fear or doubt and scatter when He is caught and hanged.
He needed to let them know that everything that was going to happen, was planned by God and that He Jesus was well informed and as such the disciples should be informed and prepared.

Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that He is about to die? He wanted the disciples to know that those thing which are written concerned him is about to be accomplished, and that they should be prepared to face the realities; ?a servant is not above his master, if they have persecuted me they will also persecute you' the prophesy much be fulfilled, as he keep on telling them if he no die, we will never live, all this thing Jesus did not tell them from the beginning so that they will not be afraid and run away but now they have seen what he can do and without lay down his life no one will live and the holy spirit will not come upon them which power they will soon need to carry out their missions.

Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that He is about to die? He wanted His deciples to understand that His Mission was about to be accomplised. He also wanted them to know that all the prophesy written and said about Him is soon to come to pass, as the bible says so that the scripture may be fulfilled. That the time has come for the redeemtion of man..He was trying to make them aware of what is about to be fall him and for them to be strong and strive to do the work of Him that has sent Him.
