What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

The fact that his family was considered middleclass.He spoke Aramaic, and he spent most of his life in Nazareth.He studied at the synangogue''I never thought He needed to study anything!''.He allowed women to be His followers''against the norm''.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

Cultural Setting/Daily Life Jesus spent most of his life in and around the farming village area of Nazareth. What is the exactly the village where Jesus spent his youthful life. Did he learn carpentary from his father Joseph? If I may ask, why was eaten of red meat: beef, lamb and pig was forbidden? Did this has anything to do with other religious ''Muslim'' belief of not eaten pig or dog? Was Joseph the father to Jesus or Guardian?
