Given the scandals associated with the women Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and the wife of Uriah (Bathsheba), why do you think they were mentioned in the geneology of Jesus? This is to show that God is a merciful God. Also, that is why He is God. His actions cannot be questioned. He said He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy and He will have compassion on whom He will have compassion. Definitely, there is something that God sees in these people that made Him use them. This is a proof that if we make ourselves available for His use, no matter what we are, He will use us. Jesus said that if these people refuse to praise me I will raise up stones to do same. We just need to be praying for the mercy of God and make ourselves available for His use.
