Jesus used the greeting to give them assurance that as of now, they have need to be afraid again since He, the Prince of Peace is risen. Also He knew that soonest He will the Holy Spirit to them which will give them boldness not to fear again. Why did Jesus use the greeting. "Peace be to you"? Was there special signiificance in this greeting? His death and resucrection has brought peace to mankind so christians should be at peace to serve Him for He has paid the price.

Why do you think Jesus chose, after he rose, to show Himself first to Mary Magdalene? Jesus shows himself first to Mary because it was through her that Jesus was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit.
