Love the Lord wit all ur heart and wit all ur strength an might, also love u negbours as urselves dis are 2 basic commandment. So if u dnt love, GOD cant love u and wash u. So wen ur been forgiven, u have that giant Holy spirit in you aweaken 2 fight al goliat in your lyf and it gives u joy as a beliver of JESUS.

How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment?

The new commandment to 'love your neighbour as yourself' is well linked to him because for one if you love someone you wouldn't love to eigther hurt his feelings or the relationship. And this presupposes that you do (obey) whatever (instructions) will keep it on course.
