JESUS CHRIST GAVE HIS LIFE

Jesus Christ gave His life for us! He was "pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." How great is the love of God for us! These words from Isaiah in the Bible were written hundreds of years before Jesus Christ came to earth. The prophet Isaiah foretold that Jesus would give His life for us. When Christ came to earth hundreds of years later, He knew that He would give His life for the sins of the world. Isaiah said, "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Jesus was "oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth." Jesus could have called on all the power of heaven to keep Him from harm, but He allowed Himself to be beaten, and humiliated, and mocked, and crucified for our sins.

Jesus repeated this miracle of healing and feeding of the multitude still out of compassion for His people. It is to teach us that God is continually ready to solve our problems whenever we run to Him.
