What is Jesus trying to teach with this parable? Hint: The vineyard (where grapes are grown) is Israel; The farmer is God; the servants are the prophets who were sent by God; the son is Jesus; and the tenants are religious leaders of the Jews.
He teaches us that what we sow, we will reap. We might think that since we cant see God physically, he is not seeing us too. This is a lie. God sees our hearts and actions and will judge each and everyone of us likewise.

Jesus said certain items belong to God that should be given back (rendered) to God. What are these items?

The bible says that we should store up for ourselves things in heaven where moth or water or fire will not destroy it. These things we should store up are the things of God -righteousness, goodwill, good deeds, gentleness, love to others etc. These are Gods' items.

They are not like material possessions that can be quantified or measured.
