First, what is forgiveness? It means to pardon, exempt the guilty from punishment, cancel obligation, excuse somebody from something impolite etc. Being guilty weighs us down, it disturbs ones' mind as you keep thinking of your punishment. Take for instance when you fail in school, you cant stop thinking all the way back home what your earthly father will do to you. Different punishments come to your mind, some more difficult and fearful than the others. Imagine what happens when your daddy comes back home and instead of punishing you just carries you on his lap telling you that everything will be ok. Imagine the love you will forever have for your dad.

this is just our earthly father. Our heavenly father does more than this. The sins we commit against our heavenly father are more grievous. But at each turn, He waits for us to turn so he can hug us and welcome us back home. He doesnt count how big our sin is, or how numerous. He loves us all alike.

Knowing we are sinners and do not deserve to be forgiven, yet we are forgiven increases the love we have for God. It makes us to love him more because no earthly father can forgive like him.
