What about this story disturbs or comforts you?

The comfort of this story is that it gives me hope that even in poverty if one believes in our Lord he will receive the bleesings of God and sit with the Angels. It disturbed me that the rich man will not allow a crumb of this food or a little of his riches go the poor. Thereby building a brick wall between him and the kingdom of God.

Why does Jesus tell the growing crowd that one must be willing to renounce everything, including one`s own life, to be Jesus` follower?

Jesus told the growing crowd that in order to be a true beliver, you have to denounce other faith, carry your cross and forfeit the sweetness of earthly things so that your faith cannot be divided when serving God
