Jesus taught that both believing and forgiving are key to effective prayer. Why do you think they are important?

When we do not forgive, we are not exhibiting the Christ-like attributes that ought to be found in christians. As a result of this God would not be happy with us and therefore he won't be moved to answer our prayers. Also faith is one of the major pillars of christianity and faih is all about believing things that are unseen. Therefore believing and forgiving are very important.
