It might sound strange to some belivers why He (JESUS) should tell a man to go and sell all he has and give the proceeds to the poor and come follow Him.  He is trying to tell us that we dont need to carry all our heavy burdens and troubles along as we resolve to follow Him.  We are not suppose to place too much importance to the things of this world which has no value and reward for us.

He said that we should store up our treasures in the Heavenly Bank where mot and termite will not destroy it instead of storing it where it will be destroyed and our labour will be in vain.

He also said that anyone who holds a plougher and looks back is not worthy of the kingdom.

We have to stop trusting in the things our hands can bring and our earthly treasures and stay focussed on the one who has called us into His mervalous light. For where your treasure is there you heart will be.

Anyone who trusts and loves the world more than God will have himself/herself to blame on the last day.

May the Lord help us to live for Him and be dead to self. Amen.
