What is "the Christ"? How is it different than one of the prophets?

Jesus is the 'Saviour'. The intermediary between God and man. He was born of the holy spirit and was foretold before His birth, born of Holy Ghost.

The propphets were anointed with oil and was giving an assignment of appealing or making sacrifice to God unbehalf of the Jews whenever they do things that annoyed against the will of God.

Jesus was commited to sacrifice his own life. What did he mean by the statement, "For who ever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel will save it"?

Jesus knew that, disciples will be prosecuted after His absence, but noted that in whatever form of prosecution that may come their way should not because of that their faith else, they will loose the right of sitting with the Father (Christ) at the end of their journey. Because he said, where he was, we might be there.

It simply means: Those who refuse to follow Jesus becuase of fear of death and persecution will at the end loose eternal life.While those who are killed or persecuted for following Jesus,will gain eternal life.
