Jesus asked him to go sell his possesions,to test his resolve.Jesus knew the man had lots of possessions.But he had to show the man,that salvation is more important than his wealth-and he needed to get rid of his wealth to be truly saved.

Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that He is about to die? Jesus Christ came to earth for a divine purpose of which is about to complete. The discipoes He is leaving the mission for are yet to believe totally in Him, though they witnessed all the divine works, miracles, signs and wonders He performed to support His Mission. He did not want to just leavel them without letting them get used to continuing without His presence and leaderlship.

Why is it OK with God to pay the one who worked all day the same amount paid to the one who worked only an hour? God is our God,maker and redeemer. He has the right to do whatever He wishes with us. For the fact that one stays in Gods company doing His will, working for Him is enough for one to be happy and worthy.Those wages are compensation for the labour and not hourly pay. It is ok that he payed as he so desire.
