Bonus question: Why was the veil torn in two? "The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two" The veil of the temple was torn in two to show everyone that anyone could talk to God through prayers.

When Jesus "breathed his last" and was pronounced dead; why did The Roman centurion glorify god? The centurion glorified God because he saw all that took place when Jesus died and realized that they had indeed killed God's Son. Darkness came over the whole land, the sun darkened and the veil of the temple was torn in two.
