Because in prayer you are talking to God, to no one else, it is an intimate conversation between God and you. He is the center of the prayer, not me neither you. In our prayers we must seek God, therefore, if we want to do public prayers for our own honor, we are not looking for God, but to satisfafy our own selfishness.

Why is giving in secret more to be commended that giving where people can see it? By giving where people can see it it might have a reward from people, approval, honor, but not from God. God weighs good deeds by the intentions, by the inner attitude, if people seeks his Glory, and not by selfishness. Every good deed counts in the measure we do them for the glory of God.

What makes it so difficult to love our enemies? Bonus Question: What happens when we love our enemies? Our flesh makes it difficult, our old nature, without the grace of God it is surely difficult.We need God empowerment. When we love our enemies we enjoy freedom, peace, and joy. God reward us that way.
